Try out these Japanese-flavored tacos with sambal oelek sauce and red cabbage salad. I made this recipe to have food for the week but I strongly suggest only doing half of the meat-part of this recipe if you are only 2-3 people who are dining for the night. These tacos have a really fresh flavor to them thanks to the coriander. And even though it has a lot of sambal oelek in them it’s not that spicy, actually.
I cook a lot of food but this was the best I’ve eaten in a while. I actually got mad at myself when I felt full because I really wanted to down more tacos. Better luck to you, if you try out this venture. Check out the Youtube-video for this one!

Ingredients

For the meat:
- 2 lb minute steak
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp sambal oelek (chili paste)
- 2 tbsp japanese soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- rapeseed oil for frying
Red cabbage salad

- ¾ lb red cabbage
- 2 green onions
- 3 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp Japanese soy sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- salt & pepper
Sambal oelek sauce
- ½ cup mayo
- 2 tbsp sambal oelek

How to:

- Cut the meat into appropriate sizes. Mix all the ingredients with the meat.
- Let the meat marinate for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Cut the cabbage and mix all the ingredients for the salad. Put in fridge.
- For the dressing, mix mayo with sambal oelek. Put in fridge.
- When meat is done marinating, fry on high heat for a couple of minutes.
- Serve meat in taco bread together with salad, dressing, lime & coriander.
